The Capital FM news broadcast is a short broadcast lasting
for 2:04, this is to keep up with the fast past style of Capital FM, the radio
format is aimed at teens and young adults aged between 15-30. The music played
on Capital backs this up; usually playing upbeat and chart music.
The style of this broadcast was upbeat and all the stories
were short and quick; each story lasting between 10 and 40 seconds.
The first story covered is about Gareth Bale’s £85,000,000
transfer from Tottenham to Real Madrid; making him the most expensive football
player in the world.
The next story is about Prime Minister David Cameron having
second thoughts about sending troops to Syria. This story included an interview
with Mike Hancock, a lib dem for Portsmouth
The third story is about Coronation Street actors Michael Le

The fourth story is about news reporter David Frost’s

The final story is about the musical ‘Wicked’ being shown at

evening shows to listen to with the news, weather an
d traffic which is essential to their day. This is backed up by the overall style of the radio station; the music they play, the way they present the shows. The news is more breaking news instead of ‘gossip news’ like Capital FM and is more interesting to the target audience. The news bulletin opened and closed with a jingle. The breaking news bulletins are read first and have a longer segment than the others with the stories lasting from 10 – 40 seconds each.

listeners are usually middle aged or a little older. This is because of the

Obama trying to get political backing for military strikes.
The third story is about a Portsmouth mum trying to get her
children back after her husband kidnapped and took them
to Oman. She hopes David Cameron and diplomatic help could bring her kids back
to the UK. Portsmouth MP Penny Mordaunt then makes a statement.
The fourth story is about a motorbike
rider killed after a crash in Dorset gives details where given of who, what and

The fifth story is about Bournemouth air
festival and how this year it was more popular than ever; record breaking
