Southsea Christmas Attack.
The 5 double 'W's are Who, What, When, Where and Why
The part of this story that is opinion is made by the police officer when he says 'These were cruel and despicable actions towards towards a vulnerable woman who is usually trusting of people as she tries to lead an independent life'
On the evening of Christmas Day a group of boys aged between 12 and 15 assaulted a woman with learning difficulties in Southsea.
It was alleged the boys verbally abused and threatened her before assaulting the 25-year old. It is believed the boys attacked the woman because of her appearance and the way she walked, as a result of her condition - Williams Syndrome.
She received slight bruising to her face and was left frightened by the event.

What is News? - News Values
News must be new, it must be relevant and there are several factors that help us to determine which story is more important to a given audience.
There are a number of recognised News Values:
Celebrity/Gossip:
Negativity: These include shock, horror, murder, tragedy, abduction etc.
Proximity: This means when news is in your local area, it is always more interesting to when it happens around you.
Elite: This includes news relating to the royal family, politicians or even counties.
Recency:
Currency: Currency doesn't just mean the story has just happened. The story could be over 3 years old but new evidence/parts to the story comes up and keeps the story going.
Continuity:
Unique: These could be one off stories. These usually have high news values.
Simplicity: Plain story's with a few of the news values involved are more likely to get coverage. They are easy for journalists to write.
Predictability:
Exclusivity:
Impact/Size: The more people that are affected by the story the bigger it gets and more coverage.
